Jean has worked as a graphic designer, creative director, art director, marketing professional, copywriter and illustrator in Rochester, NY, since 1983. She began her career as Art Director for a small marketing consulting agency with big clients, such as Bausch and Lomb, the American Society of Association Executives, and Eastman Kodak Company. After five years there, she launched her own company, with a specialty in creative work for the small to medium-sized organization. She has freelanced for many local businesses; a complete client list can be viewed here. Over the years, she has also worked in full time positions for several clients, and currently works as the Manager of Marketing and Community Relations at Villa of Hope. She has still maintained her freelance business, celebrating its 31st year.
Web design and development was added to the services offered, in 2006. Jean’s proficiencies are in the Adobe Creative Suite programs, and customizing WordPress. In 2013, she added video direction, production, and editing.
Jean has won several awards in the Rochester Area Printing Week Competition, and most recently, an RCTV “Creative Use of Media” award, and an invitation to speak about her youth marketing work in 2015 at the annual conference of the National Council on Independent Living. In 2017, she won a Pinnacle Award from the American Marketing Association, for her work for Villa of Hope.
Jean is enthusiastically involved in her community, along with her husband and 4 children. A Thalidomide survivor, she has recently embraced this identity, and is on the Board of Directors of US Thalidomide Survivors. She is currently helping to organize the group’s second annual conference, and is working on a documentary on this important untold story.
ABOUT GROVER WEB AND DESIGN
